FAQs
Can my child try a class before committing?
Absolutely! We encourage all prospective students to attend a trial class before enrolling. This allows your child to experience our coaching style, meet our team, and get a feel for training with our program. It also helps us ensure proper program placement. To schedule a trial class, simply fill out our interest form or contact us directly, and we’ll arrange a session that works with your schedule.
How do I register and when can we start?
Registration is easy! Start by filling out our online interest form here. We’ll contact you within 48 hours to discuss program placement, schedule your trial class, and provide the required health questionnaire and waiver forms. Individual lessons can begin immediately year-round. Our group academy sessions run from September (after Labor Day) through Thanksgiving, with registration opening in late summer.
What makes you different from other squash programs?
Jumbo Squash Academy offers a truly unique training environment where junior players train on the same courts as current Division III varsity athletes at Tufts University. Our low student-to-coach ratio ensures personalized attention, while our proven track record includes successful college placements at Yale, Brown, Dartmouth, and throughout the NESCAC. Students also have exclusive opportunities to watch Tufts home matches, learning from their coaches competing at the highest collegiate level. This combination of expert instruction, peer mentorship, and university-level facilities creates an unmatched development experience.
How many kids are in each class?
We maintain small group sizes to ensure every player receives individualized attention and detailed feedback. Our low student-to-coach ratio allows us to focus on each player’s specific technical and tactical development while still providing the benefits of group training dynamics. Exact class sizes vary by program level and session, but we prioritize quality instruction over quantity, ensuring your child gets the personalized coaching they deserve.
